The 57th Tyneside Vagabonds Mountain Time Trial saw a rematch between last year's top two, with Richard Handley (Rapha Condor Sharp) this turning around last year's result to push Andrew Wilkinson (Port Sunlight Wheelers) into second place by 1:38 to win the £250 first prize courtesy of Wellstream International and George Scougall.
A number of Vagabonds took part in the Derwent Dash reliability ride this Sunday - all recorded for posterity by Quentin with his helmetcam!
13.8mph may not sound too challenging, but it's no mean feat on this route that takes in Crawleyside, Cowhill, Allenhead and Rookhope. Pleased to say that all Vagabonds starting in the B2 group made it round in the time limit.
The club's Majorca training camp saw 25 club members head off for a week's riding in the (mostly) warm and sunny climes of the Mediterranean.
Staying at Port de Pollenca, home of Brits on the island, gives the option of rides through the mountains or flatter options to the south and east. With three separate groups out riding most days there was plenty of choice from hard core 100 mile rides to much more sedate rides with plentiful cafe stops for refuelling on coffee and cake - see link above for a selection of photos from the trip (courtesy of Quentin, Keith, and Roger).
There is already discussion on dates for next year on the club forum - all club members are welcome regardless of ability, and based on this year it will be another enjoyable week for everyone.
